The project is located along a busy street in the Stavanger city center. Two hundred and fifty rooms float in a ribbon configuration above an existing parking garage. Lifting the hotel rooms from the street front enables us to secure privacy for the visitor and create a living ground floor activated by shops, a restaurant and cafe, as well as the lobby. The ribbon mediates a potentially problematic context by hovering closest to the ground adjacent to an old stavanger neighborhood and by lifting dramatically when facing a nine story apartment tower.
