The Kortrijk School Complex is located in a central district in Kortrijk, next to the river Leie. Our purposal is to create a new, functional educational complex with turned towards a park environment and embracing outdoor activities.
The program includes a new building and a series of renovations and extensions adding up to 7 200 sqm. The majority of the classrooms are organised along a gallery opening onto a garden, as a contemporary re-interpretation of a monk cloister. This configuration echoes its original form already existing on the site.
The renovation and extension of the existing buildings on site creates and define a centralised square, framed by an elevated gallery.
