This project is located in the city center of Rennes, on the Esplanade Charles de Gaulle. This attractive public square is surrounded by cultural, educational, recreational and commercial facilities. The construction of the International City has two purposes: to welcome researchers and foreign students and to be an international showcase for the city and the region.
The housing complex includes: accommodation for foreign researchers and students, offices to manage these exchanges, a Cafeteria, and a municipal sports center. The density of the program results in a volumetric specific building, generating five fronts (including the roof) to meet the different scales of the site. This building becomes a significant building in the city center, creating a real link between the esplanade and downtown.
