How can we incorporate Z33 art center and adjacent service flats in this historic location, without reducing its unique park hidden away at the very center of the city?
To answer the program correctly and fit into the site without reducing the usability, we started by stacking the program of the Z33 around and on the existing buildings. The new spaces connect together to create the best sequence through the art center, according to the light and the views offered of the site.
The museum will be more open to the city, with a direct entrance to the street. new windows will create connections of the Begijnhof Houses and the garden.
